N76 Review IV-Conclusion , N76i
Kirollos Fares | January 18, 2008My trial period is about to finish , and i really enjoyed playing with the device and testing it , i wanted to do a durability test but WOM World forbids that , by the way i’m kidding!! , though it seems that the previous blogger who trialed this device did some of that , the silver plating round the flash completely turned white , and there’s some scratched here and there .
Pros:
- Music Playback

- Sleek slim design
- Not pricey ,it’s being sold online for 250$ , approximately 170€
- Runs S60 V3 FP1
- 3G Support
- Screen brightness is awesome!! even better than the N95’s
- Though the loudspeakers aren’t loud , but the voice produced is Crystal clear
- Shooting photos is rocket fast
Cons.:
- Camera quality”2.0 Megapixel” is not good
- Keypad is pain the ass , you can’t type one sentence right in this phone
- No accelerometer chip inside , though it was announced after N95
- lack of graphics accelerator leading to poor gaming experience and not supporting N-gage
- When browsing the gallery , the device becomes very slow
- Music application can’t be closed/exited , it has to be open all the time !
What I like about the Software:
- Cover display , where you can edit and control what the device automatically do when the fold is opened/closed.
- Navigating the whole library through the external screen
- Nokia Maps integration.
What i am looking for in the next firmware “if there will be a next firmware!”:
- Update the Music application IF they corrected all the bugs that are present in the current version in V20 N95-1 , and N95 9GB
- The device is pretty fast , but adding Demand Paging is defiantly something N76 users will benefit from.
- Link the camera application of both screens “external and internal” together.
- Update the multimedia menu.
- Add support for Nokia Music Store
- Update the search application as it’s full of bugs < and for fellow N95 Firmware too
This Device is good for:
i recommend this device to Women of all kinds!! , People who prefer looks than specs , Music Maniacs , kids , Teens .
This Device isn’t recommended to :
Specs looking guys , PC addicts , Mobile Geeks , Internet connection freaks and umm Homer Simpson << why do they all sound like curses or something!!
N76i :
Again…. cause i don’t want Nokia to sue me for this , this device is imaginary , it’s not a real device , it’s not the latest leaked Nokia , and it’s not for sale
I really believe that Nokia should do an i version of the N76 , or produce another slim sized hot Nseries like it , though Nokia is the world’s largest manufacturer of cell phones , it dominates nothing in the Slim cell phone industry , while other companies like Samsung and Motorola are bringing it on , by producing very slim phones with lots of specs , like , for instance the Samsung U700 , this phone is equipped with HSDPA/3.5G , with a 3.15 Mp camera with autofocus , flash and it’s 12.1 mm thick !!
For me , The N76i should have a 3.2 Megapixel camera with autofocus this time , an HSDPA/3,5G chip , though it proven to be technically useless in the previous part of the review , an Accelerometer chip , suppor for MicrosdHC , louder speaker , better keypad , better way of inserting SIM , and keeping the great look and slimming it a little bit , if WiFi could be squeezed in there , it’ll be great .
Though all this specs are already on other Nseries phones out there , they are on chunky obese phones like the N95 , but if all these great specs were squeezed in the slim design of the N76 , the device will sell millions.
Finally , I can say now that the N76 Review is finished/done , i can sincerely say that I’ll miss the N76 .
Coming real soon , a review of another music giant , the N81 + a comparison between both N76 and N81……….Stay Tuned!!
