Nokia Announces 2 New Locked Phones at CeBIT
Kirollos Fares | March 3, 2008Today, Nokia Announced 2 new exclusively locked phones at the CeBIT Exhibition in Hanover, Germany “Something I really hate; Locked Phones”, Nokia 6124 Classic and Nokia 6650
Nokia 6124 Classic:
The 6124 Classic is an S60 V3 device “Exact Version isn’t pointed in the Press Release”, Available
exclusively for Vodafone, It Features a a 2.0″ Screen,2.0 Megapixel camera with LED flash, HSDPA a.k.a 3.5G support, It’ll start shipping only for Vodafone’s Markets worldwide “Yes, This includes Albania, Australia, Czech Republic, Egypt, Germany, Greece, Hungary, India, Ireland, Italy, Malta, Netherlands, New Zealand, Portugal, Romania, Spain, Turkey and United Kingdom” in Q2 08.
What I like about this device is that it’s much announced features is all balanced and there’s no feature that truly makes the phone stand out, “It’s not like a phone with great capabilities and a freakingly bad camera, Yes, I’m talking about the N81!”, and I love the fact that Nokia is still thinks of basic multimedia devices.
Nokia 6650:
The all new 6650 is really hotter than the one before, Available exclusively for T-Mobile
it’s another S60 V3 Device, this time with featuring a 2.2″ QVGA screen, 2.0 Megapixel camera with Flash, 30 MB’s of phone memory, HSDPA, a MicroSD port and GPS!?
The specs seemed reasonable till I got to the GPS part, Really?!! the specs are bare minimum when it comes to multimedia, and they include GPS!! “I always seem to have a trouble with Nokia phones having GPS because this means it’ll not be released in my beloved homeland: Egypt, but this time, the complain is different, this phone will not be released in Egypt anyway “Having no T-mobile in your country means no 6650″, the complain is that the phone is a barely cool device, with nothing that makes it stand out of Nokia’s lineup, and adding GPS won’t increase the public appeal for this device”
It’ll be sold at 1€ with the Relax 100 Rate plan.

Markus | March 17, 2008I was at the Cebit and took a look at these phones. The 6650 looks like a RAZR just from Nokia. In my opinion both phones are not very spectacular.
